VES Class Discussion Forum Rules & Guidelines

Discussion Forum Background

  • Each VES Class has a discussion forum tab where class participants can post comments, share ideas or ask questions to the other class participants.
  • Due to the sheer number of VES Classes and the depth of content in a discussion forum, AAII will not be actively monitoring these areas.
  • AAII assumes no responsibility for the accuracy or content being posted.*

Discussion Forum Etiquette

  • Only post messages in the discussion forum that are directly related to that VES Class content.
  • Respect the purpose of the discussion forum. Use the forum to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions and helpful comments related to the class topic.
  • Respect others. Focus on the discussion forum posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question or comment.
  • If you wish to share your experience on the content of the class, please do so in a respectful and nonpromotional way.
  • Promotion of third-party products and services, including the posting of affiliate links, is strictly prohibited.
  • Use caution when posting information on the discussion forum. Any post will be available for all to see, and any comments are subject to libel, slander and antitrust laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Respect intellectual property. Only post or reference content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
  • When posting reference items in the discussion forum, please indicate if any of the reference items are not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any materials or reference items if you would like to reuse them.

Discussion Forum Violations and Actions

  • If a class participant feels that a post in the discussion forum is inaccurate, misleading, promotional or inappropriate, please contact the VES coordinator at: ves@aaii.com
  • Reviews for a questionable discussion forum post will be held in the strictest of confidence.
  • Reviews of discussion forum content will be conducted by AAII staff, with all subsequent actions being deemed as final.
  • Extreme offenses or repeated offenses may lead to offending participants’ removal from the discussion forum, the VES Class or EI Course and other AAII services including membership.
  • Do not post administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. For these types of requests or any other questions or issues related to the discussion forum, please contact the course coordinator at: ves@aaii.com

*Messages & Postings Disclaimer. VES Class participants who post comments in the discussion forum within a VES Class understand that this will become public information. VES Class participants should never post any personal information in these areas. It should be understood that AAII does not and cannot review all of the messages posted in these areas. The views or opinions are representative solely of the person posting those messages. Statements in these areas should never be assumed to be accurate, and they may contain content that could be misleading or harmful. AAII makes no such claim of accuracy of the content nor bears any responsibility to those reading or participating in this area.

Inappropriate Behavior Actions. AAII believes in free expression and active and open discussions. However, AAII also expects VES Class participants to follow rules that protect and respect other users. AAII has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor comments and discussion areas and the materials that users transmit or post. Should any user violate—or allow another user to use their account to violate—any of the rules, AAII reserves the right to move, edit or delete posts. Prohibited posts include those that are defamatory, deliberately antagonistic, disruptive, obscene, abusive, harassing, threatening, inappropriate or off topic as determined by AAII. AAII also reserves the right to immediately terminate access to a VES Offering, without a refund, to any VES Class participant who violates the VES Copyright Agreement, Alternate Material Copyrights or who posts any sales-oriented self-promotion or reference to non-AAII investment-related education services, tools or products.
